Ph.D PhD Studentships in Education

at Queen's University Belfast in United Kingdom

The School of Education provides a rich and vibrant context for educational research. The School has developed considerable expertise and an international reputation for its research on the role of education in divided and conflict-affected societies. Underpinning our research is a commitment to promoting social inclusion in and through education. As such, a number of core themes run throughout our research including: equality and social justice in education; citizenship education in divided societies; and educational responses to diversity and difference.

The School offers a dynamic, stimulating and supportive environment for research students. There are a number of full time and part time students enrolled on research degrees and all contribute to the strong research culture within the School. This culture is evidenced by the regular School research seminars which often attract leading researchers in the field and in the annual doctoral conference which is organized by research students in education at University College, Dublin and Queen’s University. School staff can offer high quality supervision in a range of key areas and recent achievements in the Research Assessment Exercise reflect a continuing commitment to high quality educational research. The School is also a recognised ESRC Regional Training Centre for Northern Ireland.
