Master Master of Science in Information Technology

at IT University of Copenhagen in Denmark

The IT University of Copenhagen welcomes applications from international students who wish to enroll in the Master of Science in Information Technology degree (MSc in IT).

International students can enrol in one of the following two-year full-time study programmes, either as full-degree students (for two years) or as non-degree students / guest students for a term or two:

Media Technology and Games (MTG)
The aim of the degree is to graduate highly qualified IT professionals to work in the broad field of media technology and games. Graduates will gain the necessary technical skills for using and creating cutting edge technology and learn to push the limits of existing media applications. The programme offers two branches to choose between: Technology or Design and Analysis. Students do joint courses and projects, collaborating across the two areas, but also specialize in their chosen branch as they progress in their studies.

Software Development and Technology (SDT)
The increasing dependency and the increasing complexity of software are putting higher demands on all aspects of software development. From better requirements and alignment with business goals over better designs and programs, more emphasis on testing and quality to better implementation and operation. In the SDT study programme you will achieve a very high both theoretical and practical knowledge about software. You can join with or without programming skills or an IT related background, e.g. a BSc. in Computer Science. If you do bring in experience, you may skip introductory courses and add an extra specialisation.

Theory and practical exercises

The IT University of Copenhagen builds on the student’s variety of educational backgrounds making their diversity an asset to society. Theory is supported by ‘hands-on’ practical exercises to give the students a clear picture of what they can create with their knowledge.

Only students who have completed a Bachelor degree can be considered for the MSc in IT programme. Read more about admission requirements.

How to get in & when to start

Only students who have completed a Bachelor degree can be considered for the MSc in IT programme.

An academic year at the IT University consist of two semesters:

  1. The autumn semester starts at the end of August
  2. The spring semester starts at the end of January
