The Fracture Ottawa Group in the Mechanical Department at the University of Ottawa is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a Postdoctoral position in the field of high temperature properties of materials. The research objectives are to develop Deformation Mechanism Maps for Gas Turbine Disc Alloys and will involve both modelling and experimental components. The research is in collaboration with a local company and the candidate will also interact with the Canadian National Research Council.
The candidate should be recent graduate with a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering or related fields and with a strong background in mechanical properties of materials, especially creep. The PDF position is initially for 1 year, and renewable depending on funding and performance of the candidate. The position will be filled as soon as qualified candidate is identified.
