Bachelor 3-years course in Fashion Communication

IED Florence invites fashion lovers, young bloggers and creative talents to participate in the selection for two scholarships, covering 50% of the tuition fee, for the undergraduate program in Fashion Communication (major in Digital Media). This course, fully held in English, will start in October 2012 at the new IED campus in Florence. The contest is open to all international students aged between 18 and 25 years old in possession of High School Diploma.

Places are limited so don’t wait any longer and send immediately a motivation letter (one A4 page max) to the e-mail address contest_firenze@ied.edu explaining your personal reasons for taking this course as well as the benefits you expect from attending it. You can also attach to it any portfolio, blog or website link, as well as references to previous academic and/or professional projects.

The selection process will include a motivational interview, in person at IED Florence or via Skype. Candidates will be evaluated based on eventual previous works and activities (portfolio, blog, experience, etc.), motivation, knowledge of English. Scholarships will be assigned to the candidates with the highest score.

Deadline to apply for scholarship is Saturday September 15th 2012 at 23.59 (Italian time)

About the course

Fashion Communication undergraduate course objectives include the creation of professionals capable of working in any branch of fashion communication. Particular emphasis will be given to new media communication methods and opportunities, either through blogs, social media, web, or video as well as all the tools susceptible to boost the communicative power of any event, brand or product.
Student of the Fashion Communication course will have the opportunity to attend lessons with Prof. Troy Robert Nachtigall (Creative Media Expert, Interactive media designer and web communication expert from Apple, New York Times, Fendi, Hugo Boss and Jean Paul Gaultier) and a special guest lecture with the famous fashion blogger from The Sartorialist, Marc Shumman. Lastly, Luisaviaroma.com, renowned worldwide to be one of the best eStore for luxury goods, will be developing a special module of the course.

A special pre-enrolment discount of 15% over the tuition fee (recurring every year) will be reserved to all students applying before July 31st 2012
