Ph.D PhD Scholarship in developing e-health technologies to improve mental health of workers

at University of New South Wales in Australia

Scholarship Description

The School of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) is offering a PhD scholarship for a student wanting to develop and test a new online mental health training program for managers. This project will be part of a larger program of research, called Men@Work, which is focused on developing new e-health technologies to improve the mental health of male workers. The proposed new manager training would focus on educating managers about how mental illness may present in male employees and teaching them how they can modify work-based risk factors, such as job demands and control. The use of e-health technology will allow this resource to be rolled out nationally and will create an ongoing resource that can be used beyond this particular project. The PhD student will be supervised by Dr Samuel Harvey and will be part of the Workplace Mental Health Research Team based at UNSW and the Black Dog Institute.
