Master MBA Scholarship for citizens of developing countries

IMD offers a variety of MBA scholarships and applicants may apply to several simultaneously, however only one scholarship can be awarded per candidate. Scholarships are granted subject to nomination by the scholarship selection committee, acceptance into the program and confirmation of your intention to participate in the program by paying the advance deposit of CHF 15,000.
In order to apply please ensure that you :

  • Use the IMD MBA Scholarship Template to write your essays.
  • Complete the MBA Financial Aid Application Form (when requested) and submit your full application to mbafinance@imd.org
    All essays should reflect your personal point of view expressed in your own words, if necessary supported by proper citation.

IMD reserves the right not to award a scholarship if the criteria are not met to the satisfaction of the jury/sponsors.

List of Scholarships

Van Oord Scholarship (x 1) CHF 30,000

For citizens of developing countries whose progress has been strongly influenced by its seaside location, struggle against the water, maritime tradition, river transportation system, etc. Preference for those with a technical background / experience related to marine engineering who wish to return to their countries after graduation.

  1. Demonstrate financial need by completing our Financial Aid Application and submit a 750 word essay on:
    How the seaside location of my country can be better used to contribute to economic growth and sustainability?

Nestlé Scholarship for Women (x 1) CHF 25,000

Preference is given to women from developing countries*.

  1. Demonstrate financial need by completing our Financial Aid Application and submit a 750 word essay on:
    Many have argued that greater diversity in the Top Management team of an organization is good for profits and customers. What would you recommend as ways to achieve greater diversity?
*Employees of Nestlé and its subsidiaries are not eligible

MBA Class Scholarship for Emerging Markets – CHF 200’000 (to be split between the winners of the scholarship)

For citizens of developing countries (except BRIC countries) to enable young leaders who meet the following criteria to earn the IMD MBA degree.

  1. Demonstrate financial need by completing our Financial Aid Application
  2. Good academic results (GMAT)
  3. Strong reference letters
  4. Steady career progression
