Ph.D PhD scholarship for Egyptian students in sustainable, energy and archaeology

at Newton-Mosharafa Fund in United Kingdom

The Newton-Mosharafa Fund offers Egyptian PhD students the opportunity to spend between nine to twelve months at a UK university doing research that contributes to the PhD degree.

The joint PhD placement programme allows highly trained researchers in Egypt with international experience to contribute to the absorptive capacity for research and innovation and thus bring about economic and social benefits to Egypt. It gives the opportunity to Egyptian PhD students in international intellectual networks to build cultural understanding, and foster long-term sustainable research collaborations; and develop international joint training pathways;

The Newton Mosharafa provides sponsorship to cover bench or research fees for Host University in the UK and living expense in the UK during study period. Applications are accepted in any of the five priority themes of Newton Mosharafa Fund:

  • Sustainable water management
  • Sustainable food production
  • Renewable Energy
  • Affordable and inclusive healthcare
  • Cultural heritage and archaeology

Applicants will need to be currently affiliated with an Egyptian public university or research centre and is an Egyptian national. Eligibility criteria can be found here
